  1. This is, functionally, the same VC50.ZIP as the original distribution,
  2. dated 15 November 1992. Program files have been re-made, with the aim
  3. of security -- the more different versions of VC, the better.

  5. Several documents have been updated, specifically those dealing with 
  6. ordering and registering VC. These provide details of more agents for 
  7. Victor Charlie and other BSA products, notably in North America. The 
  8. VCSITE.DOC, concerning site licenses and multi-user versions of VC, has 
  9. been substantially revised.

  14.    The shareware evaluation edition of Victor Charlie may NOT be 
  15.    distributed by electronic or other means in the following countries

  22. Because of the manner in which Victor Charlie works, it cannot simply be 
  23. "fired up" for a quick look. It must be installed AND initialized. 
  24. Please see the document INSTALL.DOC for a fast way to do this.

  28. VC is distributed with NO executable programs. No integral VC program 
  29. will run unless initialized. Executable programs for VC will be made 
  30. automatically during installation and/or initialization. (A side effect 
  31. of this is that VC50 should NEVER fail a BBS upload scan.)

  33. The three VC utilities, GET, BOOTFIX, and PTRESQ may be used without 
  34. initialization by copying them to executable form. All three are .COM 
  35. programs, and can be made to run with a copy process:
  36.          COPY GET GET.COM
  37.          COPY BOOTFIX BOOTFIX.COM
  38.          COPY PTRESQ PTRESQ.COM
  39. Please do not use these programs before you read the documentation.

  46. the main document for the program; INSTALL.DOC (see above); TECHREF.DOC 
  47. for advanced program usage, and VCSITE.DOC and ORDER.DOC to help you if 
  48. you decide to purchase a license for Victor Charlie.
